Who can help you with what?

  • The programme director helps you with questions regarding applications for transfer of study attainments . You also make a study plan with your programme director before you go for studies abroad or when you are taking up your studies again after being absent. The programme director is responsible for the planning and development of the degree programme and feed-back from students are important. You find your programme director in one of the teacherblocks at the 4th floor.

 

  • The tutoring teacher are having progress sessions with students every year. All degree programmes have a tutoring teacher with whom you discuss your studies on an every year basais. You find your tutoring teacher in one of the teacherblocks at the 4th floor.

 

  • Lecturers and Senior lecturers helps you with questions about courses and work practice. It is always a teacher at Arcada who supervises your thesis work.

 

  • The Study Counsellors supports you regarding your studies and your learning by discussions and tasks regarding studymotivation, time planning, study techniques etc. You can find them in C3.

 

  • The Study Psychologist offers counselling in matters concerning for example study skills and learning, motivation, stress management, anxiety related to studies, worries about the future and personal well-being. You can find her in C3 on Wednesdays.

 

  • The Study Secretary assists you with questions regarding registration and your study right, certified transcripts of records and certificates of study . You also find help with student finacial aid and application for degree certificate.The Front Desk is in C3.

 

 

  • The Integration Coordinator advises on practical matters related to integration and life in Finland. Michael von Boguslawski in C3 is the person to turn to for this kind of guidance.

  • The Math and Physics Center meets regulary, for timetable see infoscreen or contact lecturer Badal Durbo by e-mail: badal.durbo@arcada.fi

 

  • Consultation for how to use SPSS for collecting and analyzing data is provided by lecturer Peter Mildén. Please book an appointment by e-mail: peter.milden@arcada.fi or you can also find him in the Arcada building by calling 0451 36 00 32.  You can always approach him for consultation when the days lectures are finished, please find his timetable in ARBS.

 

  • The Library staff helps you with interlibrary loans and information retrieval. Individual consultation is possible by making an appointment with a librarian. The Library is situated in C2.

 

  • The Career Services provides you with advice and guidance in matters related to career planning, practical training and job search. At the Career Services we also administer applications for grants for practical training abroad and in Finland. You find the Career Services in C3.

 

  • IT-helpdesk is in C1. Here you find help regarding user accounts or technical computer problems.

 

  • The School nurses are employed by the city of Helsinki and has professional secrecy. You can contact them if you want to talk about your health, vaccinations, bloodpressure or for a health check up. You find the School nurses in E494.

 

  • The Student Union ASK is opereting at Arcada and is working to get the students voice heard by having representatives in Arcada organs such as the board of Arcada and the department councils. ASK also provides the student tutors, which means that elder students helps newcomers to find their way in study life. ASK has a house of it´s own, the COR house at the campus. In the cor house there is a café and a stationer´s shop where you can buy copy cards etc.

 

  • Fastighets Ab Arcada Nova manages the apartments on the Arcada campus. Here you find help with your application or other questions related to the apartments at the campus. The office is situated in the Arcada house in F1.
